I did it!!

Today was supposed to be the first day of a week long vacation from work, but the phone calls started before I even woke up and I was in the lab by 2:30p. Typical. The ONLY good thing about being on salary is at least I did waste a vacation day with the three hours worth of work I ended up doing, but it's still not officially a vacation (and I'm sure tomorrow will suck just as much).

Despite everything though, a very late night last night and tonight, I finished Lilo and Stitch Otherwise, and under my goal of 300 hours...although just barely at 292.73 hrs. Anyhoo, on with the pics! I left off here last weekend:
Stitch074
Finished the row just a little after 11p:

For a total finish:
Stitch078
I got it ironed and ready for mounting (and then off to Hobby Lobby for framing). I am having trouble deciding on how though. I'm not quite sure it's the kind of piece that should be matted. I may wait a few days before I decided for sure (and if anyone has any thoughts, just let me know). I'm not sure how I'm going to spend the rest of the year stitching yet (my gut is leading me to Alice and the B's), but I'll do a regular weekly stitching post as well as my final year's totals (which are SOOO gonna suck).

Oh, and in case anybody didn't notice it, the hidden surprise in the picture did actually turn out in the stitching (although it still creeps me out a bit):
Stitch079
A hidden Nemo...lying on the ground...a fish...lying on the ground...ugh. I wonder about the intentions of the artist.

Yay Keiley, you did it! That is terrific! Don't like the fish though - just a little creepy.

So happy for you that you achieved your goal just in time! I love Alice and the Bs so would be glad to see it again. Sorry to hear about your work troubles. Hope it all quietens down soon. Can't have work interfering with stitching time!

Woohoo! excellent finish. Sorry about work, but so glad you were able to finish this with a full 2 days to go in the year. I think Nemo is a toy, not a real fish.

That's fantastic!

Could it be a toy like the nemo that appears in Monster's Inc?

Oh wow, I've been a bad blog reader, I hadn't realised how close you were to finishing, this, it looks fantastic. Love it!
I was trying to convince some charting friends to chart all of this artists work but sadly copyright wise it's a bit dodgy, I might have to get a couple charted for myself though!

I knew you could do it Keiley. Congrats on the stunning finish. I'm looking forward to seeing it framed.

Congratulations on getting it finished!!! It is so cute!! And I was thinking maybe that Nemo was a toy and not the actual fish?? Maybe? That makes it a little less creepy. I hope you get to enjoy the rest of your vacation and I am really looking forward so seeing what you stitch on next!

It looks amazing :) Such a great stitch (sic) and in only 300 hours! You are an inspiration xx

Yay congrats! I think a mat would be nice. I would pick a blue that matches the darker tones in Stitch's fur. It looks great! And barely under 300 hours? That's almost a whole day! Okay a work day but still :D
Congratulations on the Happy Dance! It's so rare to see a finished HAED you just have to have a good old dance when you see one!
Awesome estimates on the time taken too.
I had to squint to see the Nemo but maybe it is just a bath-toy not a real fishy? Hopefully?

Happy 13th Blogoversary to the worst blogger ever!

Yep, I'm still here. This is the first time I've touched any blog in months. My focus has been in the "me" world. I have a new therapist and it's still early days, but I'm doing much better both mentally and physically. Work always sucks, so that's already a dead horse. And both pups are still hangin in there. My last post was probably the last time I stitched or at least my last Instragram post was. Maleficent still isn't framed, she's still in her ziploc baggie on the kitchen table. Bad me all around. I'm getting worse at this whole social media thing, what little I do. My job is tech burnout, so by the time I get home, the only tech I touch is my TV. The thought of creating a blog post or human communication in any way is just too much. I do have two vacations coming up, so that's exciting, right? I haven't felt like sharing, so very few people around me know about these. The first is a birthday trip to Boulder, j...

A to Z Challenge - B

PART 1 - JANE AUSTEN ALPHABET-COLONEL CHRISTOPHER BRANDON A much better hero than Edward Ferrars in my opinion PART 2 - MY DISNEY COLLECTION-BOOKS Obviously the age limit on books means very little to me: Do magazines count as books? Well, they are on the book row and they are Disney related, so there you go! There are several more shelves of these and they get more movement than anything else because their weight tends to kill bookshelves rather quickly. It helps to shuffle them around upon occasion to give the poor shelves a breather.

A to Z Reflections Post

I'm going to try not to be as wordy as previous years (but no promises). I did two challenges this year, my Jane Austen Alphabet Cross Stitch project, which is now complete: I haven't gotten it framed yet...heck, I still haven't gotten last year's framed either, so there is no telling when it will get done. Thanks to my friend Tiff for her suggestion of the blue fabric over the brown...she made the right choice I think! There is really nothing more to add on my second challenge, My Disney Collection, other than I have realized that my OCD apparently isn't strong enough to focus me in one particular direction. I like to think I have a Duck Room and a Princess/Villains room, but it's more like a Duck/Stitch/Parks room, a Mickey Bathroom, a Disney-themed kitchen, a living room filled with various objects, and a Princess and Villains bedroom. I don't think as a whole, they look so bad, it just looked a bit hoarderish when I divided them up into categori...
