Disney Reviews Snack Edition #13-Joffrey's Tea Traders
Yet another new location in Disney Springs, Joffrey's Tea Traders Cafe was one of those places we just couldn't pass up. I personally LOVE tea, but I'm also an incredible tea snob...I can't just drink "any ole' tea" and I refuse to drink it sweet (unless it's crappy tea like Lipton and then you have to sweeten it to remove the bitter). Yes, you read that right, I'm Southern and I HATE sweet tea! They are going to take away my Belle card for that comment, I just know it.
Disney has been a Twinnings tea place for years, it used to be used in all the restaurants, they sell it in the UK Pavilion at Epcot, and the family still do presentations at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. Lately though, they have switched their restaurant tea to Joffrey's and I kind of like it better to be honest.
There is also a Joffrey's Coffee and Tea place and a Joffrey's Smoothie location (as well as numerous Starbucks locations), but I won't drink tea from a coffee store because they often swap tea and coffee pots and the tea invariably always has a faint taste of coffee (I can't STAND the smell, let alone taste, of coffee). But since the Tea Traders was a tea-only place, I felt it was safe enough. It fits in well with the new Disney Springs theming:
And was really pretty on the inside (as well as empty):
Am got a shot of me at the counter ordering...I normally don't use her pictures for these reviews, but I didn't have a picture of this view, so there you go...my butt:
I ordered a flavored tea (I can't really remember which, but knowing me, it was probably peach or mango) and an Earl Grey Cookie. I've had tea-flavored cookies before, but they are usually not shortbread, so this one was both surprising and VERY good!
Amber probably went with plain tea (although I can't be sure), and she got her standard rice crispy treat which she said was extremely good too!
They can also make "hard" tea and had a pretty good menu, but since it was before noon when we were there, it was too early in the day (as well as too hot) to drink alcohol.
It was a quiet, nice place to eat and drink and I can't wait to go again, maybe next time I'll try a hard tea.
