Sunday Stitching

Another horrible work week gone by and yet another so-so stitching week (I still contend that the two are related). This week I worked on Alice and the Bouguereau Princesses for the first time since November. Back then, I left off a few stitches past the second row finish:

And this week I only managed to get to here:

I've been bummed that I haven't had a page finish during the week and there was a time when that was an easy feat. I just thought maybe I'd lost my mojo, but when I switched to Suteki on Saturday, it kind of dawned on me...I stitch more on the weekend than the entire week put together (since I have no life), and the amount of time during the week plus the weekend time would be well enough to finish a page, but since I'm switching projects for the weekend, I lose that extra edge. I feel a lot better about my progress now considering.

Did you happen to notice my new needle minder?

I am absolutely in love with it!!

Again, I can't show my progress on Suteki just yet because I will be posting it over on the A New Stitchy Start Blog, but yet again another "sign" popped up in the stitching. Before, it was a Mickey head, but this time it was an "A":

This project is for my sister, who's name just happens to be Amber. Yeah, go figure.

As much as I hate working on this project, it's moving along at an alarming rate, but I won't work on it again until February. I decided on five weekend months, I'd spent the extra weekend working on one of my other hated UFO's. Right now, I'm not sure if I'm going to do A Summer Ball or 35th but, whichever I choose, I'm not looking forward to stitching next weekend.

On a positive note though, at least next week's project will make me glad I won't be spending the weekend working on dithering yet again. Any guesses?

Yet another new needle minder I'm totally in love with, but also a hint at what I will be stitching on next week.

Speaking of work though, Monday is my 20th anniversary of being back at the lab. I have mixed feelings about it. Hopefully, I've managed to dissuade the powers-that-be from having a party for me. There will be cake and there will be a gift, but I'm hoping beyond hope that I don't have to go through the customary "awarding" of the gift. The thought of standing in front of everyone while one of the doctors "praises" me is beyond horrifying and I can't guarantee I won't lose it. I haven't had a tantrum in quite some time, I'd hate to do it in front of god and everybody.

Wish me luck and have a good week everybody!

Quit putting yourself down Keiley. You got more done than me and I don't work.

Good luck! I hate being the center of attention too. I walked out of my surprise 16th birthday lol I feel bad now. You've made good progress lol I can only manage like half a page a week usually. Soon to be less since I'm going to start working out again. It looks great I'm glad suteki is going well too!

Congratulations (in a small low-key whisper) on your anniversary. I think you make great progress on these huge WIPS. Alice and the Bs are looking good!

I know exactly what you mean! When I left my last job they all gathered round my desk and asked for a speech! Urgh!

Love the new needleminders, they are great! Fingers crossed you have a better working week!

Awesome progress as usual and lively needle minders :) I vote you stitch on a summers ball and watch all period dramas whilst you do so! It won't seem so bad then and it stitches up fast and will look brilliant when it's done. Maybe the gift will be a voucher so you can buy what you want? That has to worth smiling about? Xx

Yikes, I hope today went well at work. Great progress on Alice and the B's and glad you figured out why your progress seemed slowed, it's just spread out more.

Loving your needle minders. The logic behind your "slow" progress makes perfect sense, but I think you don't give yourself enough credit for what you do get done.

Good luck with the anniversary - I hate being the centre of attention as well.

I totally feel your pain. I stitch more on the weekends than I do during the week. I am so exhausted during the week I come home and just sit in my chair!!!! Love your needleminders...where did you get them???

Happy 13th Blogoversary to the worst blogger ever!

Yep, I'm still here. This is the first time I've touched any blog in months. My focus has been in the "me" world. I have a new therapist and it's still early days, but I'm doing much better both mentally and physically. Work always sucks, so that's already a dead horse. And both pups are still hangin in there. My last post was probably the last time I stitched or at least my last Instragram post was. Maleficent still isn't framed, she's still in her ziploc baggie on the kitchen table. Bad me all around. I'm getting worse at this whole social media thing, what little I do. My job is tech burnout, so by the time I get home, the only tech I touch is my TV. The thought of creating a blog post or human communication in any way is just too much. I do have two vacations coming up, so that's exciting, right? I haven't felt like sharing, so very few people around me know about these. The first is a birthday trip to Boulder, j...

A to Z Challenge - B

PART 1 - JANE AUSTEN ALPHABET-COLONEL CHRISTOPHER BRANDON A much better hero than Edward Ferrars in my opinion PART 2 - MY DISNEY COLLECTION-BOOKS Obviously the age limit on books means very little to me: Do magazines count as books? Well, they are on the book row and they are Disney related, so there you go! There are several more shelves of these and they get more movement than anything else because their weight tends to kill bookshelves rather quickly. It helps to shuffle them around upon occasion to give the poor shelves a breather.

A to Z Reflections Post

I'm going to try not to be as wordy as previous years (but no promises). I did two challenges this year, my Jane Austen Alphabet Cross Stitch project, which is now complete: I haven't gotten it framed yet...heck, I still haven't gotten last year's framed either, so there is no telling when it will get done. Thanks to my friend Tiff for her suggestion of the blue fabric over the brown...she made the right choice I think! There is really nothing more to add on my second challenge, My Disney Collection, other than I have realized that my OCD apparently isn't strong enough to focus me in one particular direction. I like to think I have a Duck Room and a Princess/Villains room, but it's more like a Duck/Stitch/Parks room, a Mickey Bathroom, a Disney-themed kitchen, a living room filled with various objects, and a Princess and Villains bedroom. I don't think as a whole, they look so bad, it just looked a bit hoarderish when I divided them up into categori...
