IHSW & TUSAL

For July's ORT jar pic, I went with a Muppet theme since that's the series I watched last that has been on mind the most. I don't have a lot of Muppet collectibles, but I do have a couple:

Stitching-wise, this weekend was a complete bust. Friday night was screwed because of work. Saturday I spent the day with my T-Boo and worked on his computer, so a really great day, but again, not a good stitching day. I did take Tartan B with me to his house, but it didn't make it out of my backpack. Sunday, I didn't have the mojo at all, but I did try. I started the day with Sleeping Beauty Castle and actually managed to finish it for a total of 56.37 hrs.

Forgive the pattern underneath, that's my ironing board cover. I'm still not happy with either the colors or the backstitching, but I'm hoping that when it's framed and hanging beside Cinderella Castle, I'll be able to see it in a better light.

I tried to work on Rainy Wedding, but I really didn't want to, so I only lasted about an hour. I left off here back in March:

And barely made a dent today:

I really hate vertically scrolled patterns. Even with a floor stand, they are uncomfortable. I'm thinking that, as soon as I empty the right size scroll rod set, I'm going to redo it in a horizontal format.

Then I tried to work on Alice and the B's, but again, my heart just wasn't in it. I left off here last time:

Although I did manage to get some done, it's still very hard to tell:

It's now at 246.67 hrs.

I took a break for a few hours, but the stack of WIPs was eating away at me. In a last ditch effort, I started Cinderella Castle at bit after 9 pm and got to here:

This has quite possibly been the absolute worst IHSW I've ever had. I did manage to clear off one WIP though, so it wasn't a total loss, but it now means I have four unframed finishes, three of which aren't even mounted. Ugh. And tomorrow means back to work...double ugh. I need a vacation.

Good finish. Maybe with a mat you can change the tone of the colours you're not as happy with, and fingers crossed Cinderella's Castle helps too. Good start on that one. Considering you seemed to have a day to stitch total, that's a lot!

I think it looks great personally!

Yay, a finish! Hopefully you'll love it once it's framed with its companion :D :D :D
You got more progress done than me - plus I forgot it was IHSW!!!

I'm sorry you didn't get as much stitching done as you wanted; I hate when that happens. But you did make progress on several, and your finish is beautiful. I hope you had a good day :-)

You got some stitches in several pieces - and a finish! Sounds like a pretty good IHSW to me. I think the castle looks great.

Never mind, there is always next month to get lots of stitching done! Congrats on getting Sleeping Beauty Castle completed, though. That is a massive accomplishment and so pretty.

Happy 13th Blogoversary to the worst blogger ever!

Yep, I'm still here. This is the first time I've touched any blog in months. My focus has been in the "me" world. I have a new therapist and it's still early days, but I'm doing much better both mentally and physically. Work always sucks, so that's already a dead horse. And both pups are still hangin in there. My last post was probably the last time I stitched or at least my last Instragram post was. Maleficent still isn't framed, she's still in her ziploc baggie on the kitchen table. Bad me all around. I'm getting worse at this whole social media thing, what little I do. My job is tech burnout, so by the time I get home, the only tech I touch is my TV. The thought of creating a blog post or human communication in any way is just too much. I do have two vacations coming up, so that's exciting, right? I haven't felt like sharing, so very few people around me know about these. The first is a birthday trip to Boulder, j...

A to Z Challenge - B

PART 1 - JANE AUSTEN ALPHABET-COLONEL CHRISTOPHER BRANDON A much better hero than Edward Ferrars in my opinion PART 2 - MY DISNEY COLLECTION-BOOKS Obviously the age limit on books means very little to me: Do magazines count as books? Well, they are on the book row and they are Disney related, so there you go! There are several more shelves of these and they get more movement than anything else because their weight tends to kill bookshelves rather quickly. It helps to shuffle them around upon occasion to give the poor shelves a breather.

A to Z Reflections Post

I'm going to try not to be as wordy as previous years (but no promises). I did two challenges this year, my Jane Austen Alphabet Cross Stitch project, which is now complete: I haven't gotten it framed yet...heck, I still haven't gotten last year's framed either, so there is no telling when it will get done. Thanks to my friend Tiff for her suggestion of the blue fabric over the brown...she made the right choice I think! There is really nothing more to add on my second challenge, My Disney Collection, other than I have realized that my OCD apparently isn't strong enough to focus me in one particular direction. I like to think I have a Duck Room and a Princess/Villains room, but it's more like a Duck/Stitch/Parks room, a Mickey Bathroom, a Disney-themed kitchen, a living room filled with various objects, and a Princess and Villains bedroom. I don't think as a whole, they look so bad, it just looked a bit hoarderish when I divided them up into categori...
