"D" - A to Z Challenge - Walt Disney World

This is definitely not going to be a hard one!  Those that know me know my obsession with Disney has a very specific focal point...

Mr. Donald Fauntleroy Duck!! - There is an entire room of my house that contains nothing but Donald memorabilia that I have been collecting my whole life!  I've been obsessed with him for so long, I can't remember when it even started! Here's a little piece of it:

I wish I could even explain why he's my favorite! I've been told we have similar temperaments (whether or not that is a compliment, I'll reserve judgement on)...I prefer to think of it as maybe he's an Asper like me!

Throughout the years, he's been the only character at WDW that I don't really fight over getting my picture taken with and I always get star-struck when I see him! I've told this story before, but the very first time I had my picture taken with him, I had to get more than a little drunk to be able to do it and the entire time I was still pretty chicken. Not every trip have I been able to do it, especially not during the solo trips (it was a miracle I could even go by myself - that shows the power of WDW, because it's hard for me to even go to the store on my own with my issues) and some years we get in line, but I chicken out before we get there. Now, I HATE my picture to be taken and the thought of me posting these pics is almost painful, but I'm gonna do it anyway, if for no other reason than to show how strong I can be at times (even if they are few and very far between).

The infamous drunk pic (just in case you can't tell):

There are other "D"'s, The Dis Boards, which I have a love/hate relationship with...I use them, I've even met a couple of really great friends, but overall they are just really annoying to me...hundreds of thousands of people who are rude, they fight, they post the same stupid questions over and over again or post stupid rumors they heard from their neighbor's brother's cousin's uncle's co-worker's mother-in-law who is a high-up at Disney so it must be fact...it makes my head hurt!

There's the Disney Days of Christmas store, one of the stores that my sister could literally spend my monthly salary in (OK, maybe not that much, but a heck of a lot, no...she probably has spent my monthly salary in there!). Disney Channel Rocks - the moving stage show at Disney's Hollywood Studios that makes me all giddy (much to the chagrin of my sister who doesn't get my baby pop music obsession). There are numerous others, but I'm gonna stop there for this installment!

That is some collection of Donald Ducks!

Well done for posting a photo of yourself, I've not been brave enough to do that yet, but you are very pretty!
Awesome collection of Donald Ducks!

Miamina, the pretty one would be my sister, the blonde one! I'm the other one! But thanks!

MangoGirl - I'm about to redecorate (i.e. move them around) again, so that's why I didn't put up more pics. My house is getting crazy! I also have a Mickey bathroom and my bedroom is princesses and villains! I wish I could get it all back in one room again, but I just don't think it's possible!

That is some collection, but where do you have room to live
This might be the most fun of all the D posts I've read. Anyone ever come to film your collection?

OCDer's are organized hoarders Bob! Everything fits somehow and I just keep adding more!

Naw Theresa, most of it is just junk anyway! I'm notorious for buying something NIB just so I can take it out of the box!! I'm just now able to leave tags on plush - when I was a kid I thought it hurt them! Now I just think of it as body jewelry for plushes! At least with the tags on I can remember if they came from WDW or a Disney store or Wal-Mart!!

I'm sure folks know which one you are, O ye of self-deprecation. Miamina was not referring to me as "the pretty one". You know you're beautiful.

Happy 13th Blogoversary to the worst blogger ever!

Yep, I'm still here. This is the first time I've touched any blog in months. My focus has been in the "me" world. I have a new therapist and it's still early days, but I'm doing much better both mentally and physically. Work always sucks, so that's already a dead horse. And both pups are still hangin in there. My last post was probably the last time I stitched or at least my last Instragram post was. Maleficent still isn't framed, she's still in her ziploc baggie on the kitchen table. Bad me all around. I'm getting worse at this whole social media thing, what little I do. My job is tech burnout, so by the time I get home, the only tech I touch is my TV. The thought of creating a blog post or human communication in any way is just too much. I do have two vacations coming up, so that's exciting, right? I haven't felt like sharing, so very few people around me know about these. The first is a birthday trip to Boulder, j...

A to Z Challenge - B

PART 1 - JANE AUSTEN ALPHABET-COLONEL CHRISTOPHER BRANDON A much better hero than Edward Ferrars in my opinion PART 2 - MY DISNEY COLLECTION-BOOKS Obviously the age limit on books means very little to me: Do magazines count as books? Well, they are on the book row and they are Disney related, so there you go! There are several more shelves of these and they get more movement than anything else because their weight tends to kill bookshelves rather quickly. It helps to shuffle them around upon occasion to give the poor shelves a breather.

A to Z Reflections Post

I'm going to try not to be as wordy as previous years (but no promises). I did two challenges this year, my Jane Austen Alphabet Cross Stitch project, which is now complete: I haven't gotten it framed yet...heck, I still haven't gotten last year's framed either, so there is no telling when it will get done. Thanks to my friend Tiff for her suggestion of the blue fabric over the brown...she made the right choice I think! There is really nothing more to add on my second challenge, My Disney Collection, other than I have realized that my OCD apparently isn't strong enough to focus me in one particular direction. I like to think I have a Duck Room and a Princess/Villains room, but it's more like a Duck/Stitch/Parks room, a Mickey Bathroom, a Disney-themed kitchen, a living room filled with various objects, and a Princess and Villains bedroom. I don't think as a whole, they look so bad, it just looked a bit hoarderish when I divided them up into categori...
