Slow progress and hole fix

I tried everything to fix the hole. I tried to stitch over it but there was no way that was going to work. I pulled the patch out and was hoping the threads would hold it together, but they wouldn't even come close. Then I tried the stupidest idea of all, I tried a band-aid, one on each side! But the needle kept getting gummy from the band-aid sticky. In the end, I cut a section from another piece of 18ct, larger than the hole, and lined it up evenly and went to town and it worked! If you look close (it's where the ocre and black humps meet), it's really ugly stitching, but you can't tell there are two pieces of aida together, so that's good at least.

Not much progress, but there is a lot of confetti here for some reason! I figured once I got to the top where there wasn't a lot of design, it would get easier. But, I guess that's what I get for thinking!!

I ordered the thread for both Tanglewood and The Bramble And The Rose from Ink Circles and got the material for Tanglewood (but I went with Lugana instead of linen, I'm still terrified of linen). I think I need to see the thread for Bramble before I get the material. I tried to look online and see what others did, but I am apparently the only person on the planet that is using the recommended thread! The thread is called "Mostly Deadly Nightshade" and it's like a gorgeous blacky-purple hand-dyed silk thread. But the recommended material is called vintage lentil and it's this weird greenish color and I'm not jazzed about it. So I'll have to see.

I also got all the thread for A Walk In The Highlands so I'm all set for the next several projects!! Now I just have to hope I don't run out of steam! It makes me want to be able to work on several projects at the same time, but there is no way my OCD will let me! I'd go nuts!!

Oh well done with the patching!!!! Honestly? I couldn't tell and I think your stitching on that part looks great! :D

Thanks, I wish I felt the same! At least it's not standing up twelve feet from being two aida layers thick!

It did cover the hole well, I just wish the stitching didn't look so crap in that spot! Guess it's a good thing I don't know any stitchers that would notice it!

Yep, I'm still here. This is the first time I've touched any blog in months. My focus has been in the "me" world. I have a new therapist and it's still early days, but I'm doing much better both mentally and physically. Work always sucks, so that's already a dead horse. And both pups are still hangin in there. PART 1 - JANE AUSTEN ALPHABET-COLONEL CHRISTOPHER BRANDON A much better hero than Edward Ferrars in my opinion PART 2 - MY DISNEY COLLECTION-BOOKS Obviously the age limit on books means very little to me: Do magazines count as books? Well, they are on the book row and they are Disney related, so there you go! There are several more shelves of these and they get more movement than anything else because their weight tends to kill bookshelves rather quickly. It helps to shuffle them around upon occasion to give the poor shelves a breather.

A to Z Reflections Post

I'm going to try not to be as wordy as previous years (but no promises). I did two challenges this year, my Jane Austen Alphabet Cross Stitch project, which is now complete: I haven't gotten it framed yet...heck, I still haven't gotten last year's framed either, so there is no telling when it will get done. Thanks to my friend Tiff for her suggestion of the blue fabric over the brown...she made the right choice I think! There is really nothing more to add on my second challenge, My Disney Collection, other than I have realized that my OCD apparently isn't strong enough to focus me in one particular direction. I like to think I have a Duck Room and a Princess/Villains room, but it's more like a Duck/Stitch/Parks room, a Mickey Bathroom, a Disney-themed kitchen, a living room filled with various objects, and a Princess and Villains bedroom.
