Weekly Stitching

For the first time in a very long time, I spent almost all Christmas weekend living in headache-land and it totally sucked. Unfortunately, I know exactly why...the joy that is my job and some very particular co-workers. Thank goodness I get to go back to work tomorrow and start it all over again (insert sarcastic smirk here).

We've also spent most of the weekend without water (except at night). Apparently, the jerks next door were illegal digging and broke a water main. Sick headaches and lack of water do not mix well, so I tried to stay as drugged up and knocked out as possible (which is why I haven't been online all weekend).

And what happens when I do get online? I find out that George Michael is gone too. 2016 is the worst year ever. If I knew of a New Year's party, I would actually go just to kick this horrible year out the door!

I did get some stitching done, most of which was today, but still. I left off last week here:

And at least made it to here tonight:
Stitch074
Thank goodness I spent a lot of time stitching before the weekend and there wasn't a lot of confetti in this section. Unfortunately, I can't say that about the last page.

It's still up in the air whether or not I'll finish before the end of the year, but I am hopeful. At least I've got some time off around New Years. I initially took vacation days for the new pup, but since he's still sick, it will be a while before he's ready. Again, I'm pretty hopeful that all will be well on that front too. Why do I even bother with hope?

Bam got a red ball replacement from both his Mommy and his Auntie Am. He's having a hard time deciding which one will be the official new red ball (even though one is actually purple - believe it or not, that was Auntie Am's gift). I will say that squeaky balls and headaches don't go well together though, so it hasn't been pleasant.

Guess we'll know for sure whether or not I finished Lilo and Stitch by next weekend. Keep your fingers crossed.

I also got RAK'ed again this week...meet Bringer of Light by Jasmine Becket-Griffith:
Bringer of Light_00
And the really cool thing is that it's an oldie which means NO DITHERING! At least I have plenty of new stash for 2017...that is if I manage to finish my already started projects that I've been ignoring since Lilo and Stitch. I am looking forward to getting back to a normal rotation again.

Oh no, what a bummer having a headache - poor you. Lovely stitching, though.

Sorry about the bad headache. Hope it goes away soon. I know I sound like a broken record, but I still can't believe how fast you stitch. If I could stitch that fast, I wouldn't have a gazillion projects started. lol

Take care,
Linda
Sorry to hear you have not been feeling well! And the new puppy is not well either. I hope you are both on the mend!
Great progress on Lilo and Stitch!! You are close now!!

So sorry about the headache - they just straight out suck! LOVE the RAK, all that lightning. Very good progress on L&S. I think a finish is possible if you can stay pain free.

Awesome RAK! I hope your headache doesn't return again this week. Maybe your co-workers will still be in food-induced comatose states? Fingers crossed you'll meet your goal and so glad Bam has 2 choices for his ball now.

Yay for Bam having 2 new balls but boo for you! I get horrible headaches too so I know how you feel. I can work through colds, flus and just about anything but a bad headache knocks me on my ass. I hope you and the puppy are getting/are better :)

Happy 13th Blogoversary to the worst blogger ever!

Yep, I'm still here. This is the first time I've touched any blog in months. My focus has been in the "me" world. I have a new therapist and it's still early days, but I'm doing much better both mentally and physically. Work always sucks, so that's already a dead horse. And both pups are still hangin in there. My last post was probably the last time I stitched or at least my last Instragram post was. Maleficent still isn't framed, she's still in her ziploc baggie on the kitchen table. Bad me all around. I'm getting worse at this whole social media thing, what little I do. My job is tech burnout, so by the time I get home, the only tech I touch is my TV. The thought of creating a blog post or human communication in any way is just too much. I do have two vacations coming up, so that's exciting, right? I haven't felt like sharing, so very few people around me know about these. The first is a birthday trip to Boulder, j...

A to Z Challenge - B

PART 1 - JANE AUSTEN ALPHABET-COLONEL CHRISTOPHER BRANDON A much better hero than Edward Ferrars in my opinion PART 2 - MY DISNEY COLLECTION-BOOKS Obviously the age limit on books means very little to me: Do magazines count as books? Well, they are on the book row and they are Disney related, so there you go! There are several more shelves of these and they get more movement than anything else because their weight tends to kill bookshelves rather quickly. It helps to shuffle them around upon occasion to give the poor shelves a breather.

A to Z Reflections Post

I'm going to try not to be as wordy as previous years (but no promises). I did two challenges this year, my Jane Austen Alphabet Cross Stitch project, which is now complete: I haven't gotten it framed yet...heck, I still haven't gotten last year's framed either, so there is no telling when it will get done. Thanks to my friend Tiff for her suggestion of the blue fabric over the brown...she made the right choice I think! There is really nothing more to add on my second challenge, My Disney Collection, other than I have realized that my OCD apparently isn't strong enough to focus me in one particular direction. I like to think I have a Duck Room and a Princess/Villains room, but it's more like a Duck/Stitch/Parks room, a Mickey Bathroom, a Disney-themed kitchen, a living room filled with various objects, and a Princess and Villains bedroom. I don't think as a whole, they look so bad, it just looked a bit hoarderish when I divided them up into categori...
